GIRL
"O God High in your fields above earth Come and be real for us You with your mind Oh yes you are Beautifully fine
O girl Electric witch you are Limp in society's ditch you are Visually fine Oh yes you are But mentally dying
O boy Just like a boat you are Sunk but somehow you float you do Mentally weak Oh yes you are But so much you speak" Marc Bolan - Electric Warrior
Once again, Marc Bolan uses the same belief he had clearly stated in one of his first epistles, BEYOND THE RISING SUN: a kingdom situated above this planet's reality, a 'higher' plane of consciousness and a real abode. Marc Bolan dares to ask God Himself to "come and be real for us" as to free us from this deadly vampire called 'doubt'. Once again Marc reminds us that the human mind is constantly the prey of unlimited feelings, ideas, thoughts, doubts, uncertainties, guilts, etc. leaving the poor soul a victim of this neverending whirlwind, this constant twister of the mind, as also confirmed by Arjuna and Krishna in the Bhagavad-Gita. Here again Marc underlines that in God's abode, the main feature is peace of mind: 'You with your mind, Oh yes You are, Beautifully fine'. A peaceful mind inhabited with positive thinking, a clear vision, thoughts of unconditional love - all those divine qualities and features are here implied in this most simple and perfect wording: 'beautifully fine'; in perfect line with the 'always happy and kind, in their minds' Marc used to describe the inhabitants of this abode 'near the land of the Golden One'.
"O girl Electric witch you are Limp in society's ditch you are Visually fine Oh yes you are But mentally dying"
Marc Bolan has decided to go all the way to awaken the true nature of the soul of human beings by telling us about the plot of Maya, material illusion. Here he explains to us that women are still viewed and considered as 'witches', or potential demons who can bring the falldown of mankind.
This is once again the old concept perpetuated by some of the Bible followers and other man-controlled spiritual 'sacred scriptures': Eve who induces Adam to bite the apple, Salome who gets John the Baptist decapitated, and so on... A most dangerous fear kept alive by bigots and false spiritualists to make sure the 'male' supremacy is left unchallenged. So, the maternal, creative, healing and spiritual powers of women are 'limp in society's ditch', without any longer playing the violent game used by the Inquisition, but an equally and even more deadly mode using the appeal of looks, false seduction and easthetics: more illusion as to trap the soul prisoner of this material body and concept of physical beauty: 'visually fine, but mentally dying'. Men thus keep saying to women: "Stay in beauty parlor, go to shopping mall, but leave the serious matter of this world to us! God is a man!"
"O boy Just like a boat you are Sunk but somehow you float you do Mentally weak Oh yes you are But so much you speak"
This is the power of Marc's epistle as he can clearly see both sides of this materialistic game. Here he tells men that although they think they are the controllers of this society, they are already sunk "but somehow you float, you do mentally weak". This is also confirmed by Bhagavad-Gita: Arjuna didn't want to fight because on both sides, he recognized people he loved, family relatives and friends. Krishna reminds Arjuna that these people he loved are already dead, because such is material life on this planet. So one who thinks this body (and role as male or female) is the ultimate purpose in this life is 'just like a boat you are sunk, but somehow you float...' Marc philosophically adds: 'you do mentally weak' because, who can thus obtain a clear vision, if the mind isn't inspired by truthfulness and wisdom? And he concludes on a very witty remark: 'but so much you speak' knowing that men are always the firsts to complain that women are always talking and talking and talking... Again, we could use an example taken from the Buddhist as well as Hindu philosophy that says that one who constantly speaks and talks without saying anything worthwhile related to self-realization or the quest for truth and wisdom, is "like the frog who keeps calling out during the night for a possible lover, but only ends up calling the snake who will come to eat it."
Once again, we can appreciate why Marc started this epistle with the need to call out for God, asking Him to "come and be real for us" and to allow us to partake of this "mind", "beautifully fine".
Why God doesn't come, or more acurately, why do we think He doesn't come ? ... that will be seen later on, in another Marc Bolan Epistle.
