PAINLESS PERSUASION v. THE MEATHAWK IMMACULATE
"It's gonna go it's gonna go It's gonna go it's gonna go I can see wild flame in front of me I can see streets built on ebony I can see men as big as cedar trees What's goin' on
I can feel earthquakes inside of me I can sense landslides of devilry I can be everything that's been bad to me What's goin' on
I say look to your soul you better look to your soul You better look to your soul you better look to your soul Or else it's gonna go It's gonna go It's gonna go" Marc Bolan - Zinc Alloy and The Hidden Riders Of Tomorrow A Creamed Cage In August
Visions are important clues one shouldn't just toss away with disdain. They may have been created as a result of drug abuse or alcohol, still they take roots in the inner centre of one's soul. Here Marc Bolan describes apocalyptical visions of a possible future, or long lost knowledge of ancient civilizations as if a door had been suddenly opened in the space and time continuum: 'wild flame' of destruction; 'streets built on ebony' and, finally 'men as big as cedar trees'. It is now known that the whole history of this material world is stored in every cell of our body: no wonder why men have access from time immemorial to these incredible visions.
"I can feel earthquakes inside of me I can sense landslides of devilry I can be everything that's been bad to me What's goin' on"
It is said man is a planet to himself and truly Marc Bolan could experiment that he is himself in fact a whole universe and both aspects of human nature are constantly fighting according to the material laws of duality. And who else can be our most dangerous enemy, if not our own self?
"I say look to your soul you better look to your soul You better look to your soul you better look to your soul Or else it's gonna go It's gonna go It's gonna go"
This is the unfortunate consequence of living a life in ignorance, lost in the various labyrinths created by illusion: man loses all sense of identity and gets lost in his own 'dream'. He no longer feels he is alive in a concrete reality as a human being with a duty, so much so that the simple notion of being an eternal "soul" living temporarily in a physical body gradually becomes a vague idea, a misty memory vanishing. The human form of life carries within itself the unique possibility of regaining this transcendental knowledge of one actually "being" the soul in charge of this body, the real « I ». When one living entity drifts away from such a responsability, being engaged in activities created in the mode of ignorance, the mind loses its intelligence and falls back to the level of lesser intelligent beings where even the main basic activities of eating, sleeping, mating and defending become a real struggle among peers and take over the whole faculties of mind and body.
So Marc Bolan warns us that one should really be careful as one may lose the unique gift offered by the human form of life which is knowledge of the soul, the perfect door to get out of this endless cycle of birth and death on this material planet and get back to the spiritual world.
